Rent a car to travel around BJ with Stephen and Vivian.Originally we targeted to explore more devastated places in BJ, but the driver said that there are less now. Finally he brought us to visit an aluminium refining station ( 首都钢铁公司]there, which had 100,000 workers before !! You will also find the serious pollution situation in our capital!

I saw the first snowing in my life :) . Walking on snowwas comfortable and a bit funny. It was so soft and thick enough that you can use your foot to create different patterns while you are walking. And the days after snowing were quite dirty everywhere!                   Carmen/Yuenman

We had a nice V-day celebration at Moscow Restaurant.  It is a nice restaurant in Beijing that was build when China and Russia (then USSR) were in good relationship.  It is one of the best restaurant in our parents' generation in Beijing.  Still quite grant.

We spent our first Chinese New Year in Beijing.  It was a fun experience.  Fireworks (which has been outlawed for 12 years) is everywhere and it is our first time to see it up close and see it lighting up all over the city.  We don't have to go anywhere to see it.  We can see it from our apartment (every side).
